Eurostock Food Group is a privately owned business, based in GB and Northern Ireland, consisting of two processing sites.
Eurostock Foods NI produces a wide range of multi-species primal and value added meat products.
Eurostock Foods Hindley is a leading producer of IQF minced meats and sous-vide style cooked meat products.
Both sites process beef, lamb, pork and poultry.
From both manufacturing sites we supply the leading names in the retail, food service and manufacturing sectors.
A strategy of continual investment in people, product development and processing facilities means Eurostock Foods is recognised as a market leading primal and value added meat supplier in the UK.
1985: Eurostock Meat Marketing Ltd
Eurostock begins trading from a purpose built production facility in Newry, Northern Ireland. Initially it operates as a commercial de-boning plant.
1987: Salford Meat Packers Ltd
The company begins operating from a site in St.Helen's, Merseyside, as a dedicated frozen minced and diced meat packing facility.
1990: Eurostock supplies French retail market
Eurostock identifies a strong market for frozen processed beef and veal offal in France, and begins exporting to the French retail sector.
In 1992 a new retail packing plant is built at the site in Newry and opens in March of this year to cater for the growing demand for processed offal products in the French market.
By the end of 1992 Eurostock becomes the leading supplier by volume of frozen beef and veal offal to the French market.
1996: Queen's Award for Export and BSE Crisis
Eurostock wins the Queen's Award for Export, in honour of its continued success in supplying to the French retail sector. Eurostock is the first Northern Irish meat processor to receive the award.
At the same time as Eurostock winning the Queen's Award for Export, a worldwide ban is imposed on the export of British beef, as the BSE crisis in Great Britain continues to escalate. This effectively closes all of Eurostock's overseas markets, including its core French market.
1998: Eurostock acquires Salford Meat Packers
Eurostock acquires Salford Meat Packers, a leading supplier of IQF Mince and Diced Meats in the UK market.
1999: Dawn Irish Gold launches in the North American Market
Eurostock becomes the first Northern Irish meat processor to export to North America in thirty years, as it launches its Dawn Irish Gold brand, a new range of traditional Irish breakfast sausages and bacon in the United States.
As the brand grows, a new Sales Office is opened in Boston, Massachusetts to manage developing the business.
However, in 2001 Foot and Mouth Disease hits the UK and as a result the US bans all imports of meat and dairy products.
2000: Salford Meat Packers acquires new site
The new site is located in Hindley Green, near Wigan, in the North West of England.
A new modern processing facility is built here with a state of the art production line, dedicated to IQF Minced and Diced meat.
In 2001 a new Cold Storage facility is also opened at this site.
2001: Chartered Institute of Marketing Award
Eurostock receives the "Strategic Marketing in Agri-Food" award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing in recognition of the success of its Dawn Irish Gold brand of Traditional Irish sausages and bacon in the US retail sector.
2002: Eurostock Food Group Ltd
Eurostock Food Group Ltd is formed, consisting of Eurostock Foods Newry Ltd (later to become Eurostock Foods NI) and Eurostock Foods Hindley Ltd.
2002: Eurostock Foods begins importing South American lamb
Eurostock forms a strategic alliance with Orenaike S.A. for importing lamb from Argentina. The lamb is to be further processed and supplied to UK and European retail and food service markets.
2004: Eurostock Launches its First Pre-Cooked Product
Eurostock Foods launches its first pre-cooked meat product; Cooked Lamb Shanks in Mint Gravy. The product is supplied to the leading UK retailer, Tesco.
